Received report from Officer Calvin Prevost, III
No recent major crimes in our neighborhood area
Architectural theft is still a problem big time

  • If possible find out what times/days construction
    workers are supposed to be working at your
    neighbors’ house so that we can be on top
    of any irregular activity

  • Copper pipe is being stolen a lot right now

Murder on 600 Block of S. Genois

  • Murder didn’t have to do with this neighborhood.
    People from 6th district followed someone into the area,
    murder happened to happen in our district

Prevost requested help from someone with IT skills to set up a listserv/distribution list,etc

  • Mark Hinson will be following up with Prevost

Gusman just opened up 180 new beds in the prison

Reserve unit coming in to help 1st district

  • 1st district will be getting 3, 2-man units for during the week

170 hours per week overtime was handed out for the first district.

Truencies: Curfew is 8pm on weekdays, 11pm on weekends (under 17 yo)

  • No real penalty at the moment for truancies, kids are just put right back in school

  • There is a curfew center

  • If the police did not pick up a kid after its been reported, please report back to cpt colin

Disturbing the Peace and outside nuisances should be reported

Received report from Stacy Head’s office from Carla Parker (Legal Aide)

  • Stacy head wants to know if 911 is working, responding quickly, etc.

  • Inspector general OIG – stacy head and shelly midura are behind this, please support at next city council mtg on October 19th

Streets were divied up upon the members attending the meeting in order to report all streetlights that are out and all storm drains that need to be serviced.
